NEBDN examiner Jonathan Worton wins top young dentist award

NEBDN examiner and Gidea Park dentist, Jonathan Worton, wins Best Young Dentist Award.

At the 2016 National Dentistry Awards held in Leicester on Friday 25th November, with over six hundred guests in attendance,  Jonathan Worton was awarded the the highly sought after prize for "Best Young Dentist" London.

The category of Best Young Dentist was open to dentists under the age of 35 who are excelling in their field and Jonathan was chosen from an expert panel of judges who shortlisted twelve dentists for consideration.

Jonathan said: "To have been shortlisted by such a distinguished panel of judges was an honour, and to be selected as the winner is truly amazing."

Jonathan works at Gidea Park Dental Practice four days each week, he studied at both Cambridge (BA) and Oxford (MSc) Universities before undertaking his dental training at Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Since then he has worked in both maxillofacial surgery and general dental practice.

Jonathan’s interests include preventative dentistry, treating nervous patients and minimally invasive dentistry. He has Post Graduate Qualifications in both medical education and aesthetic dentistry.

Aside from his role as a dentist, Jonathan is a clinical teacher at Guy’s Dental Hospital, an interviewer and examiner for the Dental Institute as well as being a National Examination Board for Dental Nurses examiner.

Jonathan moved to Gidea Park in 2013 and is extremely popular with his patients, especially nervous individuals, who warm to his friendly, kind, patient  manner.  In the local community he regularly visits several local schools to discuss oral hygiene and healthy eating with children and staff.
